BEGINNER SILK TISSU FOR THE NEW STUDENT

This is an introduction to aerial silk tissu. The silk will be straight, looped, and knotted. Students will learn basic skills and translate between all the forms of the fabric. Once the silk theory is mastered, students learn dynamic movement like climbing, wrapping, and making shapes while suspended by silk fabric. This class is fun, beginner friendly, and the perfect introduction to Aerial Silk fabric. There are no prerequisites to take this class; it is designed to help you build the strength, technique, and vocabulary needed to progress efficiently in our fabric classes. Come prepared to work hard and have fun trying something new!

Beginners must stay within 5ft of the ground or less.
Basic AIRotique class structure:
Warm up for five to seven minutes
Conditioning
Review basic skills
Introduce new skill(s)
Cool down for five to ten minutes

 

INTERMEDIATE SILK TISSU

Pre requisites:
Lead Instructor Approval
At least 6 Beginner Silk Tissu classes
Basic stand and climb
Russian Climb
Basic Foot-lock skills such as Arabesque, Standing and sitting hip leans, cocoon, forward & back leg roll ups
Proficient in Crossback straddles and hip keys
Students must be proficient with beginner skills including aerial inversions. Students will further develop their aerial vocabulary and take foundational elements to the next level. Intermediate Silk Tissu focuses more on building strength and endurance in order to enhance your control and technique in the fabric.

Intermediate students must stay within 10ft or less.

Please, no jewelry, lotions, or body oils, as we don’t want to compromise your grip on the silks. We suggest wearing a close-fitting shirt and pants or leggings. Yoga attire and most workout gear is fine, but shorts and exposed midriffs are not recommended. No zippers or buckles, please.

All students must be at least 18 years of age, or 15 years with a parent or guardian permission.
Reservations are required as spots are limited!
